BroadwayClubhouse.com is proud to present
the return of MOST LIKELY TO: THE SENIOR SUPERLATIVE MUSICAL
by Michael Tester as part of the Midtown International Theatre Festival.
With schools and regional theatres looking for alternatives to Grease
or High School Musical compounded by the daunting challenge in finding
suitable material for auditions, published and produced New York playwright,
composer and drama mentor Michael Tester, an original co-author of Ken
Davenport’s long running Off-Broadway hit, The Awesome 80s Prom,
has created his own solution in MOST LIKELY TO. Abbe Gail
Gross directs an all-teen cast of 13 including the return of original Dramatist
Guild Workshop cast members Andrew J. Beck, Alexander Greif, Katherine
Hoffmann, Lyle Colby Mackston, Melissa Rapelje, Lauren Renner, Sarah Sixt,
and Jesse Zeidman, joined by the Player’s Theater additions Gina Marie
Bilardi and Christopher Hlinka, with new cast members Steven Liberto, Matthew
Walsh, and Amanda Castaņos* of Broadway’s Spring Awakening. Performances
will be held at one of the festival’s new Theatre Row venues, The Beckett
Theater, 410 West 42nd Street in New York City from July 18-28,
2010. *Member, Actors’ Equity
Association
MOST LIKELY TO sets the
Glee’s vs. the Goths; the Drama Queens vs. the Jocks, in a Senior Superlative
Showdown, presenting the true-to-life musings of high school students labeled
"Most likely to …" by classmates! MOST LIKELY TO
employs a senior superlative ceremony as its unifying arc in showcasing
the seriocomic musings of students labeled everything from Most Popular
to Class Clown.
Composer and writer, Michael Tester states,
"With many theatre programs requiring prospective students to prepare
age-appropriate pieces, and most public school administrations wary of
the very material their pupils have a passion for, young artists are often
caught between the First Amendment and The Drama Police, Most Likely To
seeks to bridge that gap with a playful musical for the teenager in all
of us.”
For Broadway Clubhouse, Director Abbe
Gail Gross has directed Penguins Are Mad Scary and Why Vampire
Musicals Suck at The Shortened Attention Span Festival. She has
worked with Michael Tester on Most Likely To… since its inception,
directing all four productions of the show. Among her acting credits
are EdWARd 2 (FringeNYC), Oedipus, I Ought To Be In Pictures,
and performances of her original suffrage play I Want My Vote.
Musical Director Elliot Weiss is a
Julliard graduate whose credits range from composing (Witch of Wall
Street-Eugene O’Neil Award for Musical Theater, BitterSuite: Songs
of Experience, published by Samuel French), to arranging (I’m Getting
My Act Together…, New York Shakespeare Festival), to musical direction
(national tour of West Side Story). http://www.elliotweiss.net
Author/Composer Michael Tester is
the creator of The Pirate Musical! (Baker’s Plays) The Mummy
Musical (Dramatic Publishing) Hollywood Exposed! (Actors Playhouse,
Miami), Amoebas on Parade!! (King’s Head Theatre, London), Penguins
are Mad Scary (Player Theatre, NYC), and Out of the Blue (aka Blue Balls,
FringeNYC). He served as co-author of Ken Davenport’s International hit
The Awesome 80s Prom as well as The National Foundation
for the Advancement of the Arts Body & Soul Gala at the
Baryshnikov Center. Michael was awarded the Rodgers & Hammerstein Scholarship
to The American Academy of Dramatic Arts NYC, and is a student of the core
writing track of the famed Second City Training Center. A proud member
